Anchorage Museum Accepting Submissions from Alaska Artists for 2022 Alaska Biennial Exhibition

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Alaska artists may submit artworks until June 27, 2022, for inclusion in Alaska Biennial 2022, an exhibition of contemporary art produced in Alaska.
Organized by the Anchorage Museum under various titles and forms for more than 30 years, Alaska Biennial celebrates place through the lens of contemporary art and encourages the creation of new works by Alaska artists.
The artworks and artists come from across the state and work across media. 2022 marks the first year that written work, sound art, and performance art submissions also will be accepted. Past biennial exhibitions presented artwork in mediums including drawing, painting, mixed media, craft, jewelry, fiber art, visual art, metalsmithing, printmaking, encaustic, ceramic, book/paper arts, photography and sculpture.
Artists may apply online at www.anchoragemuseum.org/AKBiennial2022. Deadline for entries is 9:59 p.m. AKDT on June 27, 2022. Artists will be notified by Aug. 1, 2022, regarding artworks accepted into the exhibition.
Alaska Biennial is organized by the Anchorage Museum with support from Alaska State Council on the Arts, National Endowment for the Arts, the Municipality of Anchorage, Anchorage Museum Association and Anchorage Museum Foundation Alaska Airlines Silver Anniversary Fund.
