Contributions from members and donors like you, combined with corporate and foundation grants, are providing the support needed to grow the museum’s Polar Lab programs. Your support has already funded Polar Lab artist residencies, major exhibitions about the Arctic (including Arctic Ambitions: Captain Cook and the Northwest Passage and On Ice) and the development of public programs like the Cabin Fever film series.
Continued support from our community is incredibly important and vital for this series of exhibitions and public programs. This is why we are grateful that even more donors have recently stepped up to help the museum and artists from across the North to tell the Arctic’s story to the public:
The Surdna Foundation: $150,000 to fund Polar Lab programs that specifically engage artists with the Arctic.
The CIRI Foundation: $15,000 to support a series of Curated Conversations that provided a contemporary Alaska Native perspective on important topics to the Circumpolar North.
Eyak Corporation: $4,000 to support Near the Bear, an exhibition that explores the Arctic through art and science. We are grateful to all who have made gifts in support of Polar Lab.
We invite you to learn more about the cool people and companies making these programs happen.
