Our Museum, Our Worldview
October 24, 2016
Members Alyssa and Criss Mitchell come to know their world a little better each time they visit the Anchorage Museum.
Whether exploring challenging ideas presented in a exhibition or program on a “date night” or spending an afternoon in the Discovery Center with their three children (Zebe 7, Psalm 5, and Justice 2), the Mitchells always learn something new about their place in the world.
“We appreciate the museum’s focus on telling the story of the North because it’s our story, too.”
While they crave opportunities to be intellectually stimulated through contemporary art and programming, they also value the family-centric programs and exhibitions. The museum has become the best of both worlds for the Mitchells.
“Our museum membership provides us with a way to integrate art into our kids’ lives, which is so important to us and the way they see the world.”
The Mitchells want to see the museum continue to evolve, so they support the museum not only through their membership, but also with generous charitable gifts. “We see ourselves as partners and collaborators in the museum’s vision. Our gift enables that vision.”
