Alaska Teen Media Institute embarks on Beluga Whale Film Project

May 05, 2015

Cook Inlet beluga whales are an endangered population with less than 350 known individuals left. This topic will be the artistic and scientific focus of a collective film project of the Anchorage Museum and the Spirit of Youth’s Alaska Teen Media Institute. The Institute is a media-based youth organization that provides teens with the tools and training needed to tell stories in their own voices shared through a variety of media. Alaska Teen Media Institute stories are aired on the radio and are available online. The final film from the beluga whale project will be featured on anchoragemuseum.org as part of the Polar Lab exhibition in 2016.
