Calls for Entry and Creative Opportunities

The Anchorage Museum holds thousands of works of art in its collections and features work of artists from the last 100 years, along with artists currently working in the region, in its Art of the North galleries. The museum presents and supports the work of contemporary artists in other ways, as well. Living artists have been central to the museum's mission since its founding. Below are some of the ways we work with visual artists and other creative practitioners, reaching across disciplines and media to tell the story of our place through images, sound, collaboration and investigation.

Please see below for a list of current opportunities for artists and creatives. The Anchorage Museum IS NOT acceptING unsolicited proposals for exhibitions AT THIS TIME. "Open” calls will feature active links, which may be accessed through the clickable headings below.

“I’ve always lived in fluid hyphenation—one foot in a traditional Filipino culture and the other in modern American. Growing up, it was the osmosis of American pop culture that had me hooked on street art: MTV music videos, Juxtapoz magazines, hip-hop and skate culture, graffiti… At my core, I am a romantic who is in love with the slices of life: the sound of languages I can't understand, the taste of foods from different regions and the way people dance to their own beat.”

    - Rejoy Armamento, Anchorage Illustrator and Designer
    2021 SEED Lab Artist-In-Residence
