Films focusing on Alaska's history, nature, art and cultures are shown daily at 10 a.m., 1 and 4 p.m. in the museum auditorium May 8 through Sept. 13. Films are included with museum admission.

The Odyssey of Captain Healy
Mike Healy was born a slave in 1839. At age 15, he ran away to eventually become a legend of the Bering Sea patrol – "Hell Roaring Mike Healy." He represented justice in the Arctic, confronting rumrunners and charting treacherous waters. (57 minutes)

Walk among grizzlies and brown bears in Alaska's wilderness. Enjoy incredible footage with natural sound, music and expert commentary. (60 minutes).

The Reindeer Queen
A documentary about legendary Eskimo woman Sinrock Mary. Through a bizarre twist of fate, she became the owner of the largest reindeer herd in the North and the wealthiest woman in the territory. (30 minutes)

Aleut Evacuation: The Untold War Story
The little-known story of more than 800 Aleut people who were forcibly removed from their Alaska homes during WWII. This documentary is told from the perspective of the internment survivors. (59 minutes)

Beautiful Journey: Daisy Stri da zatse Demientieff
Filmmakers follow Alaska Native artist Daisy Demientieff on a 750-mile journey to gather materials for birch bark and split willow baskets. A Deg Xitan elder, her work is rooted in ancient Athabascan science and environmental knowledge. (70 minutes)

Raven Tales: Bald Eagle
In this modern interpretation of a First Nations creation legend, Eagle says he flew the Great Spirit over the newly created world and was rewarded with a crown of white feathers. But Raven tells children what really happened. (25 minutes) Learn more
