EDUCATOR'S TOOLBOX

The museum supports Alaska educators in their work through many on-site and outreach programs related to art, history and science. Working within Alaska education standards, the museum provides exciting ways to reinforce lesson plans and make concepts come alive.

Interactive offerings include guided tours of the Alaska history and art galleries, science workshops and science assemblies. Artifact kits are available on loan for classroom use. The Museum Shop is a great source for educational books and DVDs on Alaska subjects.

Educators are welcome to do research in the Atwood Resource Center. The comfortable, quiet center features a non-lending library of 12,000 Alaska-related books and publications, as well as 500,000 historic photographs.
