Walking With Dinosaurs
You may have heard that Mammoths and Mastodons: Titans of the Ice Age comes to Anchorage from Chicago’s Field Museum March 4 through Oct. 9, 2011. This exhibition will re-create the lives of these ancient creatures right here at the Anchorage Museum

Until then, you can whet your appetite for all things prehistoric at Walking With Dinosaurs in the Sullivan Arena Aug. 19-22. This all-ages spectacular created by the BBC presents 15 life-size dinosaurs roaming the Sullivan Arena.

Anchorage Museum members get a $10 discount on tickets for the 7 p.m. Aug. 19 opening night show. Members receive free admission to museums worldwide
Some good news for science buffs: Anchorage Museum members receive free general admission to about 300 science and technology museums in the Lower 48 and around the world.

Members enjoy this special benefit through the Association of Science-Technology Centers’ (ASTC) Passport Program. National museums participating in this program include the Pacific Science Center in Seattle, Lied Discovery Children’s Museum in Las Vegas and the San Diego Natural History Museum.

International venues include the National Museum of Science and Industry in London and Science World British Columbia in Vancouver.

To obtain reciprocal admission, show your Anchorage Museum membership card when purchasing admission tickets at participating museums. Please note this benefit is limited to general admission. Fees for IMAX movies, premium exhibits and planetarium shows still apply.

ALASKA WILDLIFE CONSERVATION CENTER
Free admission offer for museum members

Looking for an economical family outing? The first Sunday of every month, Anchorage Museum members enjoy free admission to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. Here, you can observe grizzlies, wood bison, caribou and other Alaska animals in their natural habitats.

The center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving Alaska's wildlife through public education. It takes in injured and orphaned animals and provides spacious enclosures and quality animal care. Animals that cannot be released back into the wild are given a permanent home at the center.
