Art and Culture Teen Volunteers

The museum’s art and culture volunteer program helps teens learn more about art and history and share that knowledge with our visitors.

What’s a Teen Art and Culture Volunteer?
A volunteer between the ages of 13 and 17 who is interested in Alaska art and history, enjoys working with the public, and wants to do something fun and positive.

What do Teen Art and Culture volunteers do?
Teens assist art instructors with summer art and culture camps for children and help at cultural events for families throughout the school year.

What will I get out of volunteering?

  • Learn from professional Alaska and Alaska Native artists and art educators
  • Acquire work experience
  • Meet other teens from the Anchorage area
  • Receive a discount in the museum store
  • Earn school and community service credit (varies by school)
